Ad Arma, the pseudonym of Ad Robert Meerman, (Rotterdam, July 23, 1954) is a Dutch sculptor, graphic artist, painter and glass artist. In his early period he worked under the name ARM. Ad Arma is Latin for ‘to arms’ or ‘into battle’.
Ad Arma is a versatile artist. In addition to his graphic work he also creates bronze sculptures, gouaches, oil paintings and ceramic works. A small sampling of the themes that have appeared in Ad Arma’s work over the years. But more important than the intention the artist has with his work, he values the vision of the art viewer. 'The added value, the spirit of the work, is the contribution that the viewer will project onto the work.'
