Four Khmer earthenware food pots from Cambodia, dating to 1800–1850, in good used condition with light signs of age, with varying dimensions (height 9 cm and diameter 16.5 cm; 7.5 × 16 cm; 6.5 × 15.5 cm; 7.5 × 16.5 cm).
Description from the seller
Khmer-style pottery food pots from Cambodia. These are archaeological finds from a riverbed. They date from the first half of the 19th century.
The Khmer ethnic group is an Austroasiatic ethnic group from Cambodia and also one of the oldest ethnic groups in the region. Theravada Buddhism is predominantly practiced.
According to an old legend, the Varnan Dynasty, old Cambodia, arose because an Indian Brahman married the celestial nymph 'Mera'. This marriage laid the foundation for the Khmer and Cambodia.
The old food pots are in good condition. Because of use and, of course, their antiquity, they have characteristic outward features. Examples include a shard missing here and there or a small crack.
The dimensions are:
height 9 cm x diameter 16.5 cm
height 7.5 cm x diameter 16 cm
height 6.5 cm x diameter 15.5 cm
height 7.5 cm x diameter 16.5 cm
The pots are carefully packed and shipped.
