This extraordinary instrument is an example of a Citola, a piece of great rarity and charm. Its importance is confirmed by the presence of a similar instrument at the Museo degli Strumenti Musicali di Alcamo, which defines it precisely as "Citola di provenienza sconosciuta". The analogy with the museum piece makes this lot a unique opportunity for collectors and institutions.

• Body and Construction: Characterized by a slender resonant soundbox in dark wood, the instrument features artisanal workmanship of the highest level.
• Decorations: The perimeter is entirely edged with metal and brass inlays worked in repoussé with ornamental motifs and fixed with period studs.
• Mechanics and Carved Scroll: The headstock is topped by a finely carved scroll, a typical detail of cultivated lute-making, which elevates its aesthetics.
• Base: The instrument rests on elegant volute (scroll) metal feet, which allow stable placement on a table.
Conservation Status
The instrument is in good original condition. The patina of time is homogeneous and enhances its authenticity. The structure is intact and solid; previous restorations are observed.
The object is in good condition considering its age.

In the lower part there was probably a small wooden knob. The strings are not present, leaving to the future owner the choice between a conservative restoration or displaying it as an art object.
