Description from the seller
Up for auction today is a pre-war CW Moritz Flute made in Berlin, Germany. The C.W. Moritz (Carl Wilhelm Moritz) workshop was established in Berlin in the mid-19th century. The Moritz family descended from the pioneer tuba maker Johann Gottfried Moritz. Around the turn of the 20th century, the Berlin workshop also produced high-quality wooden Boehm-system flutes. These antique transverse flutes feature traditional closed G# keys and are prized for a warm, dark, and highly resonant tone favored in German romantic orchestral repertoire.
Condition: The flute shows clear signs of previous use. During inspection, while no cracks in the wood were observed, the instrument will need a full overhaul to be in pristine playing condition. Please note that this instrument has not been serviced or maintained recently and will be sold as-is, making it suitable for restoration or parts. Overall, this is flute would make a great addition for a professional and/or collector, so don't miss out!
Included: A hard case is included, although it shows wear both inside and outside.
Shipment: The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by Deutsche Post (DHL) with tracking.
