AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

The piece is in excellent condition, with no damage or restorations.
Dimensions: 80 × 115 cm (full image).

The artwork is shipped unframed and unstretched, carefully rolled in a protective tube to ensure safe delivery.

A contemporary abstract acrylic painting developed through a process of layering and reduction.

The surface has been worked using palette knife incisions, creating fine linear marks directly into the paint. These incised lines interact with multiple layers of translucent glazes, generating depth and subtle variations across the surface.

The painting is built through successive applications of color, where thin veils and controlled textures establish a balance between opacity and transparency. The use of glazing allows light to interact with the underlying layers, producing a soft yet structured chromatic field.

Rather than relying on expressive gesture, the work is constructed through controlled interventions, where each layer contributes to the overall tension and coherence of the surface.

This contemporary abstract painting reflects a process focused on material, structure and the physical construction of the image.

About the artist

Maurizio Valch is a visual artist, writer and graphic designer, trained in Graphic Design and Fine Arts. He lived in Miami (USA) until 2013 and later in Barcelona (Spain), where he participated in exhibitions at the Royal Artistic Circle. In 2017 he presented work at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

His work explores the genesis of metaphysical territories — spaces where geological landscape and human consciousness intersect.

Using a visual language inspired by horizons and tectonic formations, he constructs territories where awareness appears to emerge from the earth itself. Elements such as stairways, monolithic forms and architectural traces act as markers of perception and transition.
