This is an original Japanese first pressing of Dire Straits' landmark fifth studio album Brothers in Arms, released in 1985 on the Vertigo label, manufactured and distributed by Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd., Tokyo. Catalog number 28PP-1005, matrix numbers 824 499-1.1 (Side One) and 824 499-1.2 (Side Two).
One of the best-recorded rock albums of its era, Brothers in Arms was among the first albums to be mastered for both CD and vinyl simultaneously using digital technology, and the Japanese pressing is widely regarded among audiophiles for its exceptional pressing quality. The album features some of the most iconic rock tracks of the 1980s, including "Money for Nothing," "So Far Away," "Walk of Life," and the haunting title track.

Artist Profile
Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977, centered around the distinctive fingerpicking guitar style and songwriting of frontman Mark Knopfler. The band rose to international fame with their debut single "Sultans of Swing" in 1978 and became one of the defining acts of the 1980s. Brothers in Arms (1985), their fifth studio album, became one of the best-selling albums of all time, selling over 30 million copies worldwide. It was a landmark release in the early days of the CD era and remains a benchmark for audiophile vinyl pressings.
