Description from the seller
Artist: ALBA-MADA
Title: IMMACOLATA VOGUIANA
Unique conceptual-material work
35 × 43 cm
Mixed media on canvas with attached textile element and raw wood frame painted gold.
Contemporary work that crosses the boundary between fashion, identity, desire, and the transformation of the everyday object into an artistic symbol. A leopard-print underwear, original, is applied directly onto the white canvas, becoming a visual and conceptual presence, suspended between irony, sensuality, and reflection on the contemporary imaginary.
The small “Vogue” logo, purposely left to show through, acts as a cultural trace and collective memory of the fashion and media language of our time. The work plays on the contrast between sacred and consumable, between luxury and poor material, transforming an intimate fragment into a sort of contemporary relic.
The raw wooden frame painted gold further accentuates this dualism: the living, imperfect material of the wood meets the golden surface, evoking an aesthetic that oscillates between icon, contemporary altar, and elegant provocation.
The piece dialogues with the language of Pop Art, conceptual art, and contemporary material installations, maintaining a strong aesthetic presence that is minimal and immediately recognizable. The contrast between the white canvas, the animal print, and the gold creates a refined, ironic, and powerful visual impact.
One of a kind.
Signed.
Ideal for collectors of contemporary art, fashion art, interior design, and galleries interested in the contamination between art, fashion, and symbol.
Careful shipping with recycled cardboard used and a reduction of plastic use, in respect of the environment.
ALBA-MADA works on transforming intimate objects into contemporary icons, moving between conceptual minimalism, poetic provocation, and emotional memory.
A daily, private fragment is removed from its original function to become symbolic presence, emotional relic, trace of the absent body. The work situates itself in the dialogue of contemporary conceptual art and neo ready-made, where the common object loses its practical meaning to assume a new aesthetic and psychological tension.
The transparent lightness of the black fabric adorned with tiny hearts creates a strong contrast with the live white wooden frame, hand-worked with a textured surface that recalls the organic veins of leather and nature. The white becomes here an ambiguous symbol of purity, silence, and suspension, entering into a visual tension with the black central element and with the almost childlike details of the small pink hearts and bows, deliberately delicate and imperfect, like emotional fragments left unchecked.
This balance between irony, apparent innocence, desire, and provocation generates an essential yet strongly evocative image, where formal minimalism coexists with a subtle emotional and psychological charge.
The piece plays with the concept of absence and presence: what normally belongs to private intimacy is exposed as a contemporary symbol, suspended between vulnerability, affectionate memory, and pop-conceptual language.
Minimalist aesthetics, strong visual impact, and immediately recognizable identity make this work especially interesting for collectors of contemporary art, pop-conceptual art, and contemporary conceptual assemblages.
