Description from the seller
Robert Pierini — Flacon ND6, “Œuvre en Verre” — Biot, France
This stunning hand-blown glass perfume bottle (flacon) is a certified unique work by Robert Pierini, one of France’s most celebrated glass artists. Born in 1950 in Toulon, Pierini completed his apprenticeship at the renowned Biot glassworks under master Eloi Monod, before establishing his own independent workshop in Biot in 1980 — housed in a historic oil mill.
Designated ND6 and described on its certificate as “Œuvre en Verre” (glass artwork), this ovoid flacon exemplifies Pierini’s mastery. The body is blown in vibrant sea-green glass with sweeping spiral ribbing that creates a sense of fluid motion across the entire surface. Encased within the thick glass walls are vivid internal inclusions — rich swirls of crimson, cobalt, yellow, silver, and white — suspended like a frozen garden, visible from every angle. The matching stopper echoes the teal-green tones in a compressed, swirling dome form. Gold dust flecks catch the light throughout. The piece is entirely solid at the base, with the certificate text of “Certificat d’Authenticité — Robert Pierini” visible through the glass.
Works by the Pierinis are fascinating as much for their colors as their shapes and graphic patterns. The certificate confirms this is a one-of-a-kind piece, personally conceived by the artist in form, design, and color — from his studio in Biot France.
