Matis Nathalie - Equilibre Sauvage

Contemporary sculpture blending the raw power of natural wood with the delicacy of pure white porcelain forms.

The trunk carved by time becomes a poetic refuge where two birds seem suspended between takeoff and silence.

The work plays on the contrast between organic matter and modern minimalism, evoking freedom, nature and harmony.

Each vein of the wood tells a unique story, transforming this piece into a singular and timeless creation, ideal for a gallery or an exceptional interior.

- I created my image for Falen Art with the aim of building a unique, modern and elegant visual identity capable of representing my artistic work and my values.
After studying graphic design in Namur and a strong taste for travel and cultural diversity, Natalie Matis’s vocation for porcelain was born in China during a journey.
On returning to Belgium, she joined the Porcepolis workshop in Brussels, where she deepened her particular love for porcelain; she loves this material for its whiteness, its nobility, its translucency, its intimacy with glaze and its softness.
She offers a range of decorative objects with a minimalist design.
For several years, Nathalie Matis perfected her ceramic studies in various studios and at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Braine L’ Alleud with ceramist Geert van Der Borght.
Passionate about ceramics, she explores autonomously different techniques and has a marked fascination with raku, a mysterious meeting of mastery and randomness, a fragile adventure between the ceramist’s dream and metamorphosis.
