Design & Quality: The lamp is designed as a classical Roman or Greek urn, featuring refined vertical fluting and acanthus-leaf-like ornaments. Stiffel was renowned for its unparalleled quality in cast brass and employed a secret, patented varnish process (Stiffel Finish) to protect the metal. The stunning combination of patinated brass with deep-black accents gives the lamp an extremely luxurious appearance.

Original Condition: What makes this lot extra unique is the presence of the original, tall cylindrical lampshade. The brand name "STIFFEL" is clearly stamped into the central brass spin (ring) of the shade construction (see photos). This proves the object's absolute authenticity. The shade rests on the characteristic American 'harp' bracket and is crowned at the top with an elegant brass finial (screw knob).
