About the work:
The artist’s works mainly depict men, captured in their intimacy, vulnerability or contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions social expectations.
Her subjects are at her mercy, offered to the public gaze, while her titles—always tinged with humor—extend the work, provide context, and fully participate in the message she wishes to convey.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta lives and works today in France and Spain.
Her art is a quest for identity, deep-seated values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality."
