Description from the seller
Children's Game
Technique: Acrylic, graphite, oil pastels on canvas, gold leaf
Dimensions: 50x70 cm
Condition: Sold with frame
Two children, joined by a bubble, play as if the world around them were not collapsing. She wears the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh, he wears the Jewish kippah: symbols of two conflicting identities, but here bound by an innocent and universal gesture.
Over the blue sky, however, loom shadows of war: a military airplane, falling bombs, destruction and blood.
This work denounces the absurdity of war and celebrates the purity of childhood, capable of overcoming cultural barriers and hatred.
