Description from the seller
Natural Moldavite tektite from the Chlum locality, Czech Republic. This specimen displays well-defined natural surface etching and characteristic sculptural morphology formed during atmospheric transport and rapid cooling following the impact event.
The piece shows translucent olive-green coloration with pronounced elongated etching and flow structures across the surface. These natural features are typical of Moldavite from the South Bohemian region and confirm its authenticity and unmodified state.
The specimen is complete and intact, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. It is self-standing, which enhances its display quality and makes it suitable as a collector’s cabinet specimen.
Moldavite is a natural impact glass formed approximately 15 million years ago during the Ries meteorite impact event. Specimens from Chlum are valued for their distinctive morphology and well-preserved surface structures.
