Description from the seller
A face emerges from the silence with almost surgical precision, polished, suspended, seemingly intact. But it is precisely in its perfection that a fracture opens. The head, pure and immobile, is interrupted: the summit is cut, transformed into an empty, accessible space. And there, exactly at the center, lies a minimal yet absolute presence—a small black figure, curled up, immersed in a gesture of radical introspection. The scale is everything. The human body, here reduced to a container, confronts a consciousness that inhabits it, observes it, perhaps dominates it. The materials amplify this tension: the white, smooth, almost clinical surface contrasts with the opaque density of the dark figure. The metallic support and the oxidized base introduce time, matter, real weight—anchoring the work to a physical dimension while the concept expands toward the interior. This work does not represent a face. It represents what happens inside. It is a visual investigation into the mind, into identity, into the distance between what we show and what we are. A piece that forces the viewer to change scale, to enter, to confront. A unique piece, conceptually strong and visually essential, perfectly in line with the language of international contemporary art.
Material: resin and marble powder, iron
Edition LIMITED to 50 copies.
* Original piece signed by the artist, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The artist develops a visual research that investigates the threshold between the real and the interior, between the figure and its dissolution. Through instinctive yet controlled painting and sculpture, her works narrate the human being at the moment when one loses oneself, fragments, and transforms. The painting material, the unfinished marks and drips become emotional language: they do not represent, but evoke. Each face, each trace, is a fragment of presence that resists oblivion. Her style, recognizable for the tension between figuration and abstraction, places her within the landscape of new Italian contemporary painting and sculpture, in dialogue with themes of identity, silence and metamorphosis. Her works convey an intimate and universal strength, able to speak directly to the viewer.
Serena Grassetti is a contemporary Italian artist. She lives and works in central Italy. Her work stands out for a deep, personal exploration that blends natural materials, pure colors and instinctive gestures. Serena is described as sensitive, innovative and emotionally powerful.
Through the use of natural pigments, earths, charcoal and raw fabrics, she creates abstract, tactile works that speak of wounds, memory and inner transformation. Her style oscillates between painting and visual poetry, with recurring elements such as white drips, incomplete faces and layered textures, making each work unique and recognizable.
She exhibits in solo and group shows, in Italy and abroad. Each work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and originates as part of a private and sincere research path.
The work, realized with mixed techniques and natural pigments, encloses the chromatic power of one who has learned to transform the painterly gesture into pure emotion, in a quest that traverses time and the market of contemporary art. Among the depths of color, one senses the same tension that made Francis Bacon’s brushstrokes iconic, the gestural quality of Jackson Pollock, and the introspection of Lucian Freud. A piece that fits into the landscape of modern art for collection, perfect for those seeking a work of strong emotional impact, capable of dialoguing with the visual energy of galleries in New York, London, Paris and Hong Kong, where names like Basquiat, Rothko and Gerhard Richter have left their mark.
A work destined for those who understand the value of art that goes beyond form, penetrating the heart of human expression, as Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele did over time. The dynamism of the brushwork and the depth of the mark make this canvas a perfect investment for collectors and lovers of fine art, always seeking unique pieces able to sit among the greats of Pop Art and conceptual art.
A unique piece for art collectors, perfect for galleries and investors seeking luxury art and works destined to increase in value over time.
In a world dominated by pop artists like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Banksy and Kaws, this work stands out for its use of completely natural coloring, making every piece unique and unrepeatable. An exclusive alternative for those seeking contemporary art with a distinctive and authentic signature.
The works have been presented in local, national and international exhibition contexts, contributing to the definition of a coherent and distinctive visual language.
The works form part of private collections and international art galleries, with sales in cities such as Dubai, New York, Berlin, London and Paris, capitals of the art market and art investment. Perfect for those seeking a unique and original piece, capable of combining tradition, innovation and deep visual expressiveness.
