Edwardian walking cane with a horn handle mounted above an elaborately chased .925 silver collar hallmarked London 1905, the dark bamboo‑like segmented shaft measuring 82 cm in length and in good condition with minor wear.
Description from the seller
A handsome Edwardian walking cane, the gently curved horn handle mounted above an elaborately chased silver collar with scrolling foliate ornament, hallmarked for London, 1905. The warm honey-toned horn contrasts elegantly with the richly patinated dark shaft, segmented in imitation bamboo, creating a refined interplay of materials characteristic of the period.
The silver mount displays attractive hand-chased decoration and retains clear hallmarks, while the cane itself presents with the mellow surface character expected of age and use. The restrained yet distinctive design reflects the sophistication of Edwardian gentlemen’s accessories, balancing practicality with decorative craftsmanship.
Condition is good overall, with surface wear, light scratches and minor age-related marks consistent with use and age. The horn handle shows natural surface wear and small imperfections, the silver collar displays gentle wear and minor softening to the decoration, and the shaft remains structurally sound. The rubber ferrule appears to be a later replacement.
An elegant and highly usable antique walking cane, equally appealing as a collector’s object or as part of a curated interior display. Length: 82 cm.
