“Séquence Ondulatoire” is a mixed media work on prepared cardboard by École Op-Art (c. 1980), Spain, from the 1980–1990 period, 58.5 cm high by 79 cm wide, weighing 3.0 kg, original edition, hand-signed, sold with frame by Galería, in good condition.
Description from the seller
- Mixed media on prepared cardboard. Title on the back.
- The following work, an op-art composition of magnificent technical execution, is structured as a polar coordinate system where a central focus acts as a singularity from which Fermat spirals or logarithmic spirals emanate. These trajectories are not linear, but follow sinusoidal functions (sines and cosines) whose amplitude and frequency modulation, added to a precise phase offset between curves, generate an illusion of dilation and vibrant intertwining that breaks the stillness of the plane.
From topology and fluid dynamics, the composition emulates a vertex or sink through interference patterns that provoke a visual rotation effect. This "visual equation" uses binary black-and-white logic without transitions and a fractal geometry to maximize retinal vibration, making the algorithmic repetition of a simple curve cancel the two-dimensionality of the support.
- Image dimensions without frame: 70 x 50 cm / 79 x 58.5 cm with exclusive custom frame.
At Montbaron Gallery, we are pleased to offer our clients an exclusive selection of artworks, all of them unique, original and unrepeatable. Each piece in our gallery is the result of deep dedication, a creative vision and masterful technique, characteristics that guarantee its authenticity. Certain lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit granted by the Ministry of Culture. Although it is an administrative procedure, it is essential to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free circulation internationally.
