Massimo Brusadin presents Spirito e libertà, an original oil painting from 2015 portraying a black Friesian horse in a dynamic portrait, hand-signed, measuring 33 × 39.6 cm and weighing 300 g in excellent condition, with brown, green, yellow and black tones, sold directly by the artist and dating to 2020+.
Description from the seller
This work depicts a majestic black Friesian horse captured in a moment of absolute energy and freedom. The composition focuses on the animal's profile, emphasizing its strength, elegance, and proud character. The mane, stirred by the wind, creates an intense sense of movement that runs through the entire scene and guides the observer's gaze.
The background is built through a vibrant fusion of golden tones, ochre, greens, and burnt earth tones that evoke a wild and luminous nature. The color blocks do not describe a precise place, but suggest an open and unspoiled environment, leaving room for imagination and emotion.
Brushstrokes and execution technique
The work is created with rich, gestural painting. The brushstrokes are energetic and fluid in the mane, creating movement and depth through overlays of dark tones and bright highlights. On the horse's body, however, the stroke becomes more controlled and structured, highlighting the musculature and the variations of light on the coat surface.
Layered working allows for notable color richness, with transparencies and glazes that give vitality to the figure. The contrasts between deep shadow areas and the warm lights of the background further enhance the subject's stage presence.
Atmosphere and interpretation
The piece conveys a strong sense of freedom, power, and nobility. The horse, universal symbol of vital energy and independence, emerges with intensity from the luminous background, almost as a manifestation of nature's strength.
The setting, deliberately evocative rather than descriptive, recalls wild landscapes bathed in sunset light, creating a balance between realism and emotional interpretation. The result is an image capable of conveying dynamism, elegance, and character.
Perfect for collectors of contemporary figurative art, horse and nature lovers, or for elegant and modern spaces where one wishes to insert a work with strong visual impact and great decorative presence.
Unique artwork, entirely handcrafted.
