Description from the seller
OPERA
I decided to call this work “Skeleton” because it speaks of what I show on the outside and what I keep more protected inside.
The most visible part, built with black, red and white, is for me like a bark or armor: a stronger, material surface that contains and protects. The black belongs to this external part, to what acts as a barrier. The red, instead, is the vital element of the work: something that continues to flow beneath the surface, like a bloodstream.
Inside the bubble in the top right I chose to leave visible the pencil part, without completing it with color. For me that area is the skeleton of the drawing, the origin of the work: a part more fragile, more sensitive, but not empty. Even there I left the red, because for me it represents inner life.
Red is therefore fundamental because it is present both in the external cortex and in the internal skeleton: it is precisely the blood, the connection between skin and bones. It is what keeps moving between the part that protects and the more fragile one. In this sense, “Skeleton” tells a continuous movement between outside and inside: an external part that defends and an internal part more exposed, yet still alive.
The signature is hidden inside the work.

ARTIST
I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist, born in 1992, based in Milan. My research sits within the realm of gestural-based abstraction, a strand of abstract art developed especially after World War II, in which the sign becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not describe recognizable figures, but builds rhythm, density, tension and breath within the work. My work arises from a gesture-writing made of circular modules and nets of signs, with which I seek balance between fills and empties, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the sign and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with different techniques, layering glazes and markings to put color fields and the black mark in dialogue; I’m interested in both a tight black-and-white, and the use of sharp color contrasts.
This language of mine originates in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The sign I trace is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. Therefore, even within a repetitive grammar, every trace is different and every work remains unrepeatable.
