Neapolitan Polychrome Maiolica – Allegorical Scene with Putto – 19th Century
Elegant 19th-century Neapolitan polychrome maiolica plate, traceable to the famous productions of Giustiniani or Mollica workshops, among the most important ceramic realities of Naples in the 1800s.
The work features a refined central decoration in Neoclassical taste depicting an allegorical female figure accompanied by a winged putto with a floral garland, set within a rich ornamental border of floral and vegetal motifs in blue, green, manganese, and ochre yellow. The painting quality, vibrant colors, and decorative balance recall the finest Neapolitan artistic productions inspired by the Italian Renaissance tradition.
Fully handmade decorated, with a bright glaze and pleasant chromatic depth. The back shows a beautiful ceramic body consistent with productions of the period.
Very good condition and perfectly preserved for the type and era, with very slight signs of time and minimal marginal firing imperfections completely compatible with the age of the piece and not visible when on display. No breakage or evident restoration.
