Pair of Neapolitan carved and gilt poplar console tables with mirrored consoles in antique Rococo style, dating from the 18th century and later; consoles measure 132 x 56 cm and 88 cm high, mirrors 142 x 103 cm, in discrete, heavily used condition with probable small losses and original patina with uneven gilt, supplied with Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance; pickup in Pescara, export procedures apply for foreign buyers.

Pair of Neapolitan-style console tables with mirrors.
Description: a pair of Neapolitan-style console tables in carved poplar wood gilded in mecca with marble-effect tops, carved bands with vegetal motifs and variably twisted volutes. The legs are curved and terminate in clawed feet. The mirrors are rectangular with carved cornices featuring floral elements, also gilded in mecca. Mirrors 4/5 mm thick, 'silvered' with a tin-mercury amalgam.
Dimensions:
- consoles: 132 x 56 cm, height 88 cm
- mirrors: 142 x 103 cm
Conservation status: the conditions are fair, with imperfections and defects. They are entirely original with period patinas and no significant missing parts. While showing the signs of time, in keeping with the centuries past, they maintain structural and decorative integrity and their historical/artistic value without requiring invasive or structural restorations; there are original period nail connections, the mecca gilding is oxidized and irregular, with various gaps.
The purchaser will be provided with a Certificate of Authenticity and Legitimate Provenance.
- Due to the delicacy and importance of the object, the purchaser may pick up in Pescara. For Italian buyers delivery can be arranged in another manner by mutual agreement.
- For a foreign buyer, the export procedures will need to be completed.
