Description from the seller
LUIS Y SU PRIMO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work is a portrait that celebrates friendship, loyalty and the silent companionship that arises between a person and his animal. The young protagonist appears alongside his dog with white and black spots, forming an inseparable pair that occupies the center of the composition. Both share a calm and sincere presence that conveys closeness and authenticity.
The work stands out for its powerful chromatic combination. The background in intense yellows and oranges envelops the scene in a warm and luminous atmosphere, while the deep blues of the jacket create a vibrant contrast. The simplicity of the elements directs all attention toward the characters and toward the bond that unites them.
With influences from modern portraiture and figurative expressionism, the painting uses simplified shapes and visible brushstrokes to highlight the emotional character of the scene. The direct gaze of the young man and the serene attitude of the dog build an honest and timeless image, where the personalities of both are revealed without artifice.
“Luis y su perro” is a work about companionship, trust and everyday affections. A portrait full of humanity that recalls how, many times, the deepest bonds are found in the simplicity of sharing the path with a faithful friend.
