The present offer comprises the three volumes of the Finances section from the monumental Encyclopédie Méthodique, published 1784–1787 by Charles-Joseph Panckoucke in Paris (as well as by Plomteux in Liège).
The Encyclopédie Méthodique is the largest publishing project of the French Enlightenment and the systematically arranged successor to the famous Encyclopédie by Diderot and d’Alembert – a complete work that ultimately encompassed over 200 volumes and appeared from 1782 to 1832. The Finances section belongs to the politically and economically historical very significant early installments: It appeared immediately before the French Revolution and reflects the financial and tax system of the Ancien Régime in its final phase.
27x21 cm. 685 + 787 + 797 pp. Rubbed full leather bindings of the period with brown and green spine labels. Interior very well preserved, only slightly browned in places. Strong red edges, solid block. Marbled endpapers. Watermark.
