CAMBODIA. 20 Sen. 1959.
- Value: 20 Sen.
- Year: 1959.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ceremonial altar with rays and an inscription in Khmer around. Reverse: “ROYAUME DU CAMBODGE · 20 SEN · 1959” with the value in Khmer in the center surrounded by a wreath.
- Grading: MS67 (NGC).
Aluminum 20 Sen coin with a detailed and symbolic design, where the obverse features a ceremonial altar from which rays emanate, evoking religious and traditional elements of the country, surrounded by an inscription in ornamental Khmer script. The reverse combines colonial and local influences, with a French inscription and the value in Khmer framed by a finely executed laurel wreath. The piece is in exceptional condition, with very intense original luster, practically flawless fields and perfectly defined reliefs, typical of a very high grade. Issued during the Kingdom of Cambodia under Norodom Sihanouk, it reflects a period of national identity and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia of the mid-20th century.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
