Description from the seller
A 100% HUGE original French cinema poster ('Grande' size, approx. 160 x 120 cm) for the legendary movie Supervixens (1975), directed by the undisputed 'King of Sexploitation', Russ Meyer.
Supervixens was a box-office phenomenon in 1975. Made on a shoestring budget, it became one of the most profitable independent films of the decade and heavily influenced visionary directors like Quentin Tarantino. This French 'Grande' poster perfectly captures the vibrant pop-art aesthetics, dark humor, and larger-than-life energy of the film. It is a stunning visual statement and one of the most sought-after cult movie posters of the 1970s.
Although Eubank completely walked away from Hollywood shortly after the film's release, her image with her signature pigtails remains forever immortalized as the ultimate face of 70s exploitation cinema.
This bold artwork was crafted by the celebrated French poster artist Illico (signed in the plate, bottom right). It was printed by the historic specialist printing house La Lithotyp in Roquevaire using a premium lithographic offset process on the authentic, lightweight paper stock typical of French cinema posters from this era. La Lithotyp was renowned for using deeply saturated inks; the vibrant pinks and bright yellows pop just as intensely today as they did in 1975.
Factory-folded at the time of release (the archival standard for French 'Grande' posters). The colors are exceptionally bright and fresh. No pinholes in the corners, no tape residue on the back, and very clean edges. A remarkably well-preserved, unrestored collector's piece.
