Description from the seller
Offered for auction is a vintage Leitz Prado microscope, manufactured by the renowned German optical company Leitz Wetzlar, a name synonymous with precision scientific instruments and exceptional optical craftsmanship.
The Leitz Prado series was produced during the 1950s and 1960s. Based on its design and construction, this microscope is believed to date from approximately the late 1950s to early 1960s, representing a fine example of post-war German optical engineering.
This microscope is presented in very good cosmetic condition, retaining its attractive original finish and overall vintage character. The instrument appears complete, including its objective turret, eyepiece, stage, condenser and original Prado base.
The mechanical functions have been tested and are operating very well. The focusing mechanism moves smoothly, and the objective turret rotates correctly through its positions.
The optical system has not been professionally tested, and no optical performance evaluation has been carried out. Therefore, the microscope is sold as found, as seen in the photographs, and without guarantees regarding optical performance.
A highly desirable scientific collectible from one of the world's most respected optical manufacturers, suitable for collectors, microscopy enthusiasts, museums, educational displays, or vintage scientific interiors.
Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and condition assessment.
The item will be professionally packed and shipped with tracking.
