Description from the seller
Striptease at night
Original screenprint by Francesc Artigau Seguí (Barcelona, 1940), a key figure of contemporary Catalan art, painter, draftsman and printmaker with an international career.
Trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona, he taught at the EINA school and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona for more than two decades.
His work is in the most important collections of contemporary Catalan art and has been exhibited in museums and institutions across Europe.
Limited edition numbered 90/320, signed and dated in pencil: Artigau 76 (1976).
A composition rich in narrative, erotic and chromatic detail in a Pop Art key: a female figure in the process of undressing occupies the center of the scene, rendered in black and intense orange with a language between striptease and dance, in a bourgeois interior with a night window open to the moon and to a male figure observing from the darkness.
Multiple secondary figures in terracotta and black populate the margins with great dynamism and a sense of visual rhythm, creating a composition of strong symbolic charge and voyeuristic tension.
Palette of orange, cobalt blue, brown and black with strong visual impact.
Fine thin silver frame with a white margin.
Overall good condition, typical of a work over four decades old and well preserved.
The reverse presents the original protective cardboard.
The work will be carefully protected and packaged for shipment, ready to hang.
Collectors of Spanish graphic art, Catalan Pop Art, screenprint edition limited, human figure, nude, erotic art, Artigau, Catalan art of the 1970s, signed screenprint, numbered limited edition.
