Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
German-made Simplo Nº 2 fountain pen in resin/polyester, 12.2 cm long with a 1 cm diameter, 14k gold nib, safety-filling system, in good used condition from the second half of the 20th century.
Description from the seller
A0000004349
The fountain pen is presented in an excellent overall state of preservation, especially noteworthy given its age and nature as a piece from the 1920s–30s.
The body and cap in black ebonite retain a deep and uniform shine, with an elegant patina from the passage of time. No cracks or deformations are evident, maintaining a solid and well-preserved structure. The engravings, including the distinctive “Montblanc Simplo,” remain visible and legible, adding collectible value.
The gold-plated clip shows light, uniform wear, with partial loss of the plating consistent with its age, contributing authenticity without compromising its aesthetics or functionality.
The 14-karat gold nib is in very good condition, well aligned and without visible deformations. It preserves its original geometry and promises a smooth writing experience, with the typical flexible character of these historic pieces.
The Safety-type filling system is complete, with the mechanism present and showing no signs of aggressive modification. As is usual with this type of pen, it shows signs of use consistent with its age, without affecting its integrity.
Overall, it is a very well-preserved piece, with an excellent balance between originality, functionality, and aesthetic presence, ideal for both collection and occasional use.
Conservation recommendations
- Use high-quality inks for fountain pens
- Avoid pigmented inks
- Clean with warm water if not used for a while
