China Rugs – Elegance and Tradition from the Middle Kingdom
China Rugs trace a centuries-old tradition and are among East Asia's most important handicrafts. They combine intricate patterns, high-quality materials and deep cultural symbolism into unique carpets that are valued both as flooring and as wall decorations.

Origin and History
The history of Chinese carpet weaving goes back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE). Especially in western China, for example in the Ningxia region or later in Beijing, intricate carpets were created, often for the imperial court. From the 19th century onward, China Rugs gained increasing international significance and were exported to Europe and America.
