Description from the seller

Urban Calatrava

Calatrava was born near Valencia, where he attended the School of Arts and Crafts and the School of Architecture. After graduation, in 1975, he enrolled at the Federal Polytechnic in Zurich to obtain a second degree in civil engineering. In these years Calatrava was influenced by the Swiss Le Corbusier, whose Notre Dame du Haut chapel allowed him to examine how complex forms can be generated in architecture. Calatrava's style combines the visual conception of architecture with interaction with engineering principles: his works are often inspired by the shapes and structures found in nature.
