Magnificent Verve publication, the 1951 Picasso double bill special 25/26 hardcover with dust jacket. A mesmerisingly chic original Picasso litho cover. The black spots in the images are not wear and tear but part of the drawing; there is hardly any wear. The two opening lithographs (the blue knight and 1949-1951) are in near perfect condition. The other B/W lithos and heliogravures also in perfect condition. Minimal wear and discolouration, 2 spots on the back of the opening litho (probably from new). Supremely rare in this condition, or any condition. Reputedly gifted by legendary Lartigue-muse Renée Perle to a friend. It seems too specific to not be true, but we haven't been able to verify this with the family. Highly recommended. A book to go through again and again and again. A gem.
