. Hungary, Europe, Medieval King Stephen V (1270–1272). Denar ND (No reserve price)

Stephen V .King (1270-1272) - Slavonian Silver Denar (Banovac) - VF Stephen V's short but turbulent reign (1270–1272) was characterized by internal power struggles with his own father, Béla IV, followed by armed conflicts against Ottokar II of Bohemia. Although he ruled as sole king for only two years, his determined political and military ambitions left a lasting mark on the history of Árpád-era Hungary. This Slavonian denar (banovac), struck during his reign, served as the distinct, high-purity silver trade coin for the southern provinces of the 13th-century Kingdom of Hungary, representing one of the most economically stable currencies of the era. The obverse of this hammered silver coin features the marten, the heraldic animal of Slavonia, typically depicted running between two stars. The reverse is decorated with the traditional double cross, flanked by crowned royal heads at the base.
