Olympus OM-1 + F.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.8 Analogue camera

OLYMPUS OM-1 + F.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.8, tested and working. Hello from Japan! We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world. The Olympus OM-1 (1972) changed what a professional SLR could be. Yoshihisa Maitani's design was dramatically smaller and lighter than its rivals yet gave up nothing in build quality, and its viewfinder is still among the brightest and largest ever fitted to a 35mm SLR. Fully mechanical, it works without a battery except for the meter. Offered here with the F.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.8, and the OM bayonet adapts readily to modern mirrorless cameras. Condition: Used — Excellent Pre-owned, heavy signs of use Serial Number Please check the photo. Appearance Scuffs and scratches from normal use on this black body. Please check the photos for details. Optical Condition Haze: Traces of coating deterioration from past fungus on the lens — cleaned, marks remain. See photos. Fungus: Cleaned — no active fungus. Finder: Cleaned internally; the prism shows some deterioration typical of the OM series. Functional The camera operates properly — see the measured shutter figures below. The 1/60 and 1/1000 speeds are close to spec (1/58 and 1/1190); the 1 second speed runs slow, measured at about 1.4 seconds. The meter is accurate: about +0.5 EV at EV12 and +0.7 EV at EV15. The OM-1 is fully mechanical: the shutter works without a battery, which is needed only for the meter. The meter was designed for a 1.35 V mercury cell, so a modern replacement or an adapter is recommended for accurate readings. The viewfinder and lens have been cleaned internally and the light seals replaced. Measured Performance We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured: - 1 s — measured 1/0.7 s (approx. 0.5 stop slow) - 1/60 — measured 1/58 s (on the mark) - 1/1000 — measured 1/1190 s (approx. 0.3 stop fast) - Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.5 OVER / EV15: 0.7 OVER Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself. Servicing This camera was serviced by us before listing: - Viewfinder cleaned internally - Lens cleaned internally - Light seals (foam) replaced Bundled Items Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package. Important Notes for Used Items As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described. Shipping We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery. We only ship to registered addresses. We ship within 3 business days after payment. Customs and Taxes Parcels are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): import VAT and any customs duties are collected by customs or the carrier on delivery, in accordance with the rules of the destination country. Where import taxes have already been collected at checkout — for example under the EU IOSS scheme for orders up to EUR 150 — there is nothing further to pay on delivery. Import charges vary from country to country, so please check the rules that apply where you live. We do not under-declare item values or mark items as "gifts." Returns and Buyer Protection Handled in accordance with Catawiki's Seller Terms. If you have any questions, please contact us before bidding. Thank you for visiting our listing. Japan has one of the world's largest used-camera markets. We appreciate your interest.
