CANON AV-1 + New FD 50mm f/1.8, tested and working. Hello from Japan! We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world. The Canon AV-1 (1979) was Canon's aperture-priority answer to the shutter-priority AE-1 — you choose the aperture, the camera picks the shutter speed, and that is the whole of it. That simplicity made it a favourite first SLR for a generation, and it remains an easy, pleasant camera to shoot today. It uses the Canon FD mount and is offered here with the FD 50mm f/1.8 standard lens. Condition: Used — Excellent Pre-owned, heavy signs of use Serial Number Please check the photo. Appearance Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details. Optical Condition Haze: Haze on the front element of the lens. Fungus: Cleaned — traces of coating deterioration from past fungus remain on the rear element. See photos. Finder: Cleaned internally — clear. Functional The camera operates properly — shutter, film transport, self-timer and aperture-priority automatic exposure all work. Metering measured about -0.7 EV at EV12 and -1.0 EV at EV15, so exposure runs slightly dark; set the film speed a stop lower to compensate. The viewfinder and lens have been cleaned internally and the light seals replaced. The AV-1 is aperture-priority only and requires a battery for the shutter to fire. Measured Performance We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured: - Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.7 UNDER / EV15: 1.0 UNDER Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself. Servicing This camera was serviced by us before listing: - Viewfinder cleaned internally - Lens cleaned internally - Light seals (foam) replaced Bundled Items Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
