The modern form and design elements that compose it were really a revolution for 1960.

The possibility to be closed "clamshell" phone this distinguished from all other models in that period. Not surprisingly, we can consider it the forerunner of the models of flip phones, produced since the 90s.

The name "cricket" derives from the typical ring tone reminiscent to the small insect, which comes just from inside the plug.

The dial phone Grillo represented a real challenge to the technical potential of the period, considering the very limited space.
