H= 23cm -L=51 Sold with a custom made wood stand ( included in your package) .
Provenance: Modou Sow Collection .
Age: From the mid 20th Century
Wood and leather around the neck.
Condition: Has been broken at the four feet from base, two back legs broke in two and re-glued ( in case despite my careful wrapping with bubbles if breaks back again during transport you will not be refunded, you will have to reglue it yourself with wood glue ) . See images for condition.

The four holes on the base where to fix a woven basket to dance above the head during ceremonies to favor the growth of the crops. Bamana people are agricultural, and live in MALI. This is the female horizontal representation, the vertical elongated Shiwara are male.
