Nicolaas Dings (1953) is a Dutch sculptor and draughtsman.
The motifs in his work are often taken from the visual language of the Renaissance, but also a precipitation of the journeys he made. Using the most diverse materials such as bronze, ceramics, wood and textiles and also in drawings and paintings, he connects the material and the symbolic, the physical and the spiritual in a contemporary way. He creates his own, often humorous, universe with a lot of space for associations. The monumental images of Nicolas dings can be found in various places in the Netherlands. His sculptures appear three-dimensional collages.
Nicolas Dings donated this work to the Rosa Spier house for this auction.
