Aat Veldhoen (1934 -2018) was a Dutch painter and graphic artist.
Veldhoen grew up in Amsterdam and learned the trade from his father's father, who was first advertising painter, and later a painter. Veldhoen started his career as a draftsman, but soon he established his name as a free artist. Veldhoen liked to make detailed drawings and paintings of dune landscapes, self-portraits, naked women and free-standing couples. He learned a lot as an intern in the Binnengasthuis, where he drew patients and operations.
Aat Veldhoen donated this work in 2018 to the Rosa Spier House for this auction.
