Adriaan Lubbers (1892-1954) was a dutch glass painter, painter, draughtsman, decoration painter, theatervorm giver and lithographer.
Although he never took lessons, he learned a lot from other artists he knew. He lived and spent time in New York where he signed and painted in his spare time. After a few years of Paris, where he met Piet Mondrian, Lubbers settled in Laren in 1932. In 1950 he was the founder of the Art and Business foundation of which he was to 1953 director.
This work was part of the Rosa Spier House art collection.
