Nikki van Es (1956) is a Dutch sculptor, environmental artist, painter and collagist. She graduated in 1979 from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She makes abstract work. The understanding of natural structures plays a role in its subjects. It enlarges microscopic images. The organic structures made visible in this way must lead to the understanding of the larger connections. The visualisation of structures in her work is reinforced by the use of translucent materials such as paper and glass.
Her work was exhibited in the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Japan.
