French school clock with carving. - Wood, Oak - Second half 19th century

Beautiful original school clock made in France around 1870.
The case has an octagonal shape and is in good condition, free of woodworm.
Very beautiful hand-carved ornaments in the shape of flowers.

Oak framing with original flat glass, fitted within a round brass lunette.
Beautiful, undamaged wooden dial with enamel cartouches.

The movement is exceptionally sturdy and runs smoothly and accurately. Runs for approx. 8 days.
Everything was professionally cleaned, oiled and adjusted.
The clock comes complete with winding key.
