Model 1777 infantry rifle manufactured under Louis XVI and which was converted to percussion by a civilian armorer around 1840 when it was modified into a hunting weapon.
The metal parts are in a dark patina with surface oxidation and pitting in places.
Platinum is marked by the manufacture of St-Etienne.
It remains a part of the brass basin which was leveled during the transformation.
A feeder with a chimney was added to the light during the percussion transformation.
The dog was also replaced on this occasion.
