It is a weapon from the transformation of the hunter rifle model 1859.
These rifles will be distributed mainly to the regiments of intervention of the Second Empire (Zouaves and the Foreign Legion).
Bayonet support: for model 1842 or 1842/59.

Lock: marked ‘Manufacture Royale de Saint Etienne’.
To thunder: no markings because removed by the addition of the pepper box.
Graduated increase 200, 400 and 600 m.
Mechanism in perfect condition, complete and functional without any play, very strong springs.
Round grooved barrel in perfect outside condition, unfortunately the grooves are almost no longer marked, except at the beginning (chamber side).
Wood in very good condition (healthy and hard wood), with many markings and punches.
