Dish decorated with blossom garden en dragon fly - China - 1662-1722 (Kangxi period)

A beautiful Chinese dish with a lobed rim, dating from the Kangxi period (1662-1722).

The dish has a central design depicting a blossom branch on a rock, with many blossoms, two dragon flies and various insects. This is encircled by eight pomegranate-shaped cartouches and relief depicting various blossom bushes. The outer-rim has cartouches with ruyi-motif contours, also featuring various blossom branches within.

The base of the bowl is richly decorated with blossom branches and a stylised branch design. The bowl is marked within a double circle with a Chinese character ( Meaning jewel )

The dish is in very good condition, missing two tiny chips at the rim. The dish has a diameter of 13.7 cm.
