An old Luba-Kusu half figure with a charged nails on top.

H= 25 cm , 36 cm o the stand. Some chip sof wood missing on the back around the rim and in the lower part (see pictures)
A quite abstract and peaceful figure.

The combination of Luba and Kusu styles is typical for the border region between both people and has historic roots.

"kakudji" Figure.

The figure has a layered shiny patina of years of veneration typical from tthe Luba Kusu people ( or Baluba) a quite big geographical area south-central region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Majority of them live in this country, residing mainly in its Katanga, Kasai, and Maniema provinces.
