A superb copy of what Willems calls a 'Magnifique publication', from the Elzevier press in Amsterdam. Dögen worked for the Admiralty in Amsterdam for a considerable time and later became military architect to Friedrich-Wilhelm, to whom this work is dedicated. Provenance: Hopetoun (engraved armorial bookplate).
