Large first world war shell relic on wooden base with engraving "Stanislau 1917".
Stanislau (todays Ivano Frankivsk in the Ukraine) was part of the eastern Galician war front and eventually could not be held by the Austro Hungarian military against the Russian offensive.
The shell (projectile) fragment is actually the tip that has been blown off due to an odd impact and is usually not left in its original shape. Unclear whether it is Austro Hungarian or Russian origin.
Very heavy with 5.6 kg, measurement approx. 19 x 16.5 x 9 cm, wooden base 25 x 20.5 x 2 cm.
