Beautiful bronze frame with an enamel portrait of Field Marshal Helmuth Karl Bernhard Graf von Moltke (26 October 1800 – 24 April 1891). He was a German general and field marshal, chief of staff of the Prussian army and architect of victories over the Austro-Hungarian Empire and France in the 19th century. He is also known as von Moltke the Elder to distinguish him from his nephew Helmuth Johann Ludwig von Moltke, who led the Imperial German Army at the outbreak of World War I.

He is considered one of the greatest military strategists in history.
