Medieval Iron Viking iron knife with decorated bone grip

Very rare Medieval Viking era iron knife with a decorated handle, made of with several green toned bone- and metal layers/discs and decorated with bone at the sides. The decorations are both punched- and inlays with tiny iron bars.
Very rare to find iron in this state of preservation. The blade is still in good-reasonable shape and sharp !

Length: 23 cm
Width: 2 cm (blade width)

Condition: Reasonable to good condition, visible signs of rust and wear consistent with age and use, see pictures for own impression. To be handled with care.

Purchased by the current owner at a Dutch collector's fair in 2020.
