Original - Very good condition

Auschwitz Cross - Polish state decoration (a tribute to people imprisoned in Nazi concentration camps, for their martyrdom and courage). The name of the award comes from the concentration camp in Auschwitz (Oświęcim).

Dimensions: 42 x 42 cm (silver-plated) The obverse shows a barbed wire and two columns. In the centre there is a red triangle with the letter P (such patch was used in German concentration camps for Poles). On the horizontal arms there is an inscription: 1939 – 1945. The reverse bears the inscription: PRL / WIĘŹNIOM / HITLEROWSKICH / OBOZÓW KONCENTRACYJNYCH (PRL /TO PRISONERS OF / NAZI / CONCENTRATION CAMPS).


Medal: 50th anniversary of the end of the war and the liberation of camp prisoners (the German foundation Maximilian-Kolbe-Werk; the main task of the organization is to help former prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps). The medal with the diameter of 8 cm. Obverse: railroad tracks, barbed wire broken by rose flower. 50 YEARS / LIBERATION. Reverse: a group of people – prisoners. Above them, random numbers 7 of KL Sachsenhausen - July 1936, KL Buchenwald - July 1937, KL Ravensbrűck - July 1937 (camp for women) were placed all over them.
