Gorgeous book dedicated to Nepalese society and religion, more precisely to the Newar population. Newar are the historical inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley and its surrounding areas in Nepal and the creators of its historic heritage and civilisation. Newars have developed a division of labour and a sophisticated urban civilisation not seen elsewhere in the Himalayan foothills.[ Newars have continued their age-old traditions and practices and pride themselves as the true custodians of the religion, culture and civilisation of Nepal.
The book is largely dedicated to rituals, religious practices, local deities and the Nepalese pantheon.
Superb color or black and white images, maps, statistics and very interesting information.
Impeccable on the inside, high quality glossy paper without stains and without underlining or additions to the text.
The only downside of the work is the slightly worn and partially torn dust cover (but without missing a piece0 as can be best seen in the last picture.
Big and heavy book.
